And they lived happily ever after.
Right? Isn’t that how fairy tale marriages always go? But in real life . . . maybe not.
Marriage is hard and wise counsel often needed.
Today, the day after all the romance of Valentine’s Day, Deb Wolf of Counting My Blessings is sharing a collection of:
THE BEST MARRIAGE ADVICE EVER!

Gosh, Patti….those were some awesome tips over there. I especially liked yours, because right now I find myself more easily frustrated with my husband at times…..he’s home all the time right now because he recently was laid off from work, whereas his job normally kept him away from home a couple weeks at a time.
I’m quite used to being my only concern during the days he would be gone….hahaha, now there are “two of us” again. “MY” routine has been disrupted, and I try to remember that his has as well. So, I pray that the Spirit quickly reminds me before I can say something uncalled for….or if I sound harsh and there’s no need for that, I ask for the courage to humble myself and apologize. Quickly! I am blessed to have the husband I have, and I don’t want to hurt him or his feelings in any way. Satan on the other hand, encourages it!
Thanks for sharing her post, Patti! Blessings to you and Mr OTN.

Thank you Sharon! There was a wealth of marriage advice collected by Deb at Counting my Blessings wasn’t there? I’m so sorry your hubby was laid off! I know how hard it was for you when he was away for long stretches but being in close proximity all of the time can be wearing. That tends to be the time when I find myself getting snippy and I hate it when I am like that! It truly tends to be my issue most of the time and not his. Isn’t Satan mean to our marriages? Ugh! I will pray that your hubby finds a new job soon. God’s peace to both of you in the meantime.

Loved reading your thoughts, and somehow I had missed this post of Deb’s with all our friends’ wisdom, so thanks for the heads up! Blessings to you, sweet Patti!

In just 6 weeks, Steve and will celebrate 46 years of marriage. We are best friends, never go to bed angry and we both build one another up daily. In over 47 years of knowing one another, we have rarely fought because I grew up in a house where there was absolutely no fighting and he grew up with a family where there was constant fighting. He strove to never be like his parents and I knew I wanted to emulate mine.
Patti says
That is so awesome Carol! You don’t look old enough to have been married for 46 years though. That is really an accomplishment in today’s world and I admire you.

Oh, that verse about a triple braided cord! Being the two married and God! That was awesome Patti! I have been turned around by God in the last year and I have just started joining the blog parties at blogs like Deb’s and I saw you over there this last week and was so happy to see a face I knew! Bravo for you Patti! Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!
Patti says
YAY YOU! I’m really happy for you Sherry. I wish I could have you over for coffee so you could tell me all about it! I’m back and forth between the two types of parties a lot with my home transformation and people transformation posts. LOL! Blessings friend <3
